It is well known that retail asset acquisitions are traditionally the domain of the local investor. However, this weighting has started to shift towards the offshore purchaser.
This could be due to a number of factors, including low domestic interest rates, low Australian dollar, solid yields, and the increase in population. These factors combine to produce some excellent results for vendors and purchaser’s alike, with key retail property being hotly contested when offered to the market.
